Often among the lessons that was shared by Rick Warren in
his Best Selling book Purpose Driven Life, the one that teaches us to be a
blessing to others is often the most under stressed. Most of us focus on the
importance of spreading the gospel but we forget the manner on how we should
spread it. In the book, it was said that being a blessing does not only include
sharing the Message of Christ’s life but also sharing your surrendered life to
those who are in need…
So, how do we become a blessing to others?
Our brothers from Baguio have time and again demonstrated
the answer.
With small acts of kindness, the Bless Our Cops and Soldiers
Movement in Baguio lead by Ptr. Vio Muncada has continually been a source of
blessing for the Armed Forces in the Benguet Peninsula. Last Christmas, they
went from one precinct to another to visit duty bound policemen and shared
donuts and a cup of coffee with them. They continually visit police stations in
the city to pray for policemen and their families.
Last month they outdid themselves by hosting a three day
seminar on Rick Warren’s Purpose Driven Life for the policemen of Benguet. The
seminar was funded by the different churches of the city that believed in the
transformation of the country was possible if you bless and transform their
police force. They rallied behind their police in the belief that their
ministry will be blessed with the help of the police who also has great impact
in the communities that they wish to evangelize.
With this partnership, both pastors and policemen continue to live a purposeful life full of blessing
