Love Assumes The Best : A Valentines Concert from the PNP-HS Breakfast Club

“Love…Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things”

Love has no limits. Love never says, “You’ve gone too far. I can’t love you now”

All things means everything is include. Do those close to you know that they can fail and do foolish things yet you will not falter in your love to them? Are others assured that, even when they hurt you, you will still love them, holding nothing against them?

Love assumes the best about others. If someone inadvertently offends you, you choose to believe the offense was unintentional. If someone seeks to harm you, you “bear all things” forgiving unconditionally. If someone continually provokes you, you “endure all things”. You never lose hope in the ones you love. You practice the same unconditional love toward others that God has given you.

The Apostle Paul said that he was nothing if he had the faith to move mountains,
the tongue of an angel, the gift of prophesy to understand all mysteries, yet did not have God’s love. It is unacceptable to say, “Well, I just can’t love people that way!” When God loves people through you, this is the only kind of love He has- SELFLESS and COMPLETE. Pray and ask Him to express this kind of love to you!

God is love. His very nature is perfect love, but because of sin love does not always come freely and naturally to his children. You may have been raised in a home where love was not expressed. Perhaps you were hurt by someone you loved, and your heart became hardened as a defense against further pain.

You may love others but not know how to express your love in words or in action.

God Himself teaches us how to love one another. If we found someone difficult to love, God would enable us to love through the Holy Spirit. God in His grace has made provision for our human weakness and He is prepared to teach us how to love one another. There are no exceptions. God can teach us to love through His Holy Spirit even the most difficult person.

Ikaw Lamang

Are you struggling to love someone?

God will help you. He will enable you to love your parents, your spouse, your children, your friends, or your enemy in a deeper way than you could ever love them on your own way.If you do not know how to express your love in a meaningful way, God will teach you how to do this.
God is the authority on love. As you relate to others, Ask God to make His love overflow to them through your life.

Bless Our Cops and Soldiers Baguio: Reaching the Highlands for Christ

The BOC4 team has once again traveled to the Cordilleras to organize and equip ministers who are willing to minister to the cops and soldiers, equip their church and strengthen their community towards blessing the whole country.

The BOC Cordillera coordinator Ptr. Vio Muncada and Prof. Cris Patacsil of UP Baguio assembled like-minded ministers who are willing to minister to the armed services and would like to impact their community using the police and military as their platform.

Those who have joined the call were Johnathan Garcia, Michael Baleyley, Jeffrey Nisperos and Ruben Vidal of the Church of God-Baguio; Ptr. Eddie Pekley of the PCF Community Church; Ptr. Walter Joaquin of New Hope Baguio; Ptr. Esteban Baday Jr. and Ptr. Robert Terre of the La Trinidad Community of Believers.

The vision casting activity started with a sampler of the Wisdom of the General series that the BOC is utilizing in different camps in the AFP and the PNP. It was then followed by the history of the CORPS Movements foundation followed by an overview of the Bless Our Cops and My Brother’s Keeper program of the BOC Movement Inc.

It was then followed by the Safer Cities and Community campaign which aims to help build productive cities in the country through the NSTP program and children’s advocacy.

The vision cast brought terrific insights and zealous commitment from the participants who promised to reach out towards the men and women in uniform in the city of Baguio and the towns of the Cordillera’s.

Later that night the BOC4 team once again joined brother’s in the PMACF to join in their Brother’s Keeper program which was highlighted by a pizza night-out among graduates and cadets of the PMA.

AFP and PNP Host First Joint My Brother’s Keeper Conference by Col. Erwin Luga (Ret)

Christian PMAyers are vulnerable during the first 5 years after graduation from the academy especially when left alone without fellowship.  They are in an environment where they may be swayed and give in to the pressures of the “world”, becomes lukewarm in the faith, and eventually lives a defeated Christian life.

We desire to see Christian PMAyers stand firm in their faith during the first 5 years after graduation.  Hence, it is necessary for them to have someone who is a matured Christian to watch out and care for them during this critical period in their military career.  They need  “brother’s keeper” (Gen 4:9)

A “brother’s keeper” is someone who accepts responsibility for the secular and spiritual welfare of other believers.  The Hebrew word that is translated as “keeper” (shaw-mar), means literally a custodian, watcher, or caretaker. The statement “am I my brother’s keeper” could even be translated as “am I my brother’s baby-sitter”. So the term “keeper” does not mean guide, helper, or aid, but implies a much higher level of responsibility, such as a caretaker or parent.

The PMA Christian community establishes a “Brother’sKeeper” (BK) program for the Chrisitian cadets in partnership with Christian organizations ministering to uniformed personnel.

The intent of the MBK program is to ensure that a Christian PMA graduate will stand firm and grow in his/her faith during the first 5 years after graduation.

The MBK program is a partnership between PMA Christian Community and the Christian organizations (hereon referred to as PCO) ministering to uniformed personnel e.g. Military Ministry, CORP Movement Foundation, Coalition of the Faithful, and others that have burdens for the military.

The following factors greatly affect the outcome of the program: the existence of a strong bond between the BK and the ward.  This should be established while the wards are still cadets; the cadets are assigned or dispersed all over the country after graduation from PMA and Metro Manila as the transit point of cadets going to and from PMA during their leave, official business, and/or trips.

For this reason,  there are two categories of BK:  the Metro-Manila Based Keeper (MMBK) and the Provincial Based Keeper (PBK).  The general functions of the MMBK and the PBK are basically the same which is to “baby sit” new graduates (hereon referred to as “ward/s”).  However, they differ in their specific roles: The MMBKs’ specific role is to establish strong relationships with their wards while they are still cadets and connect them with PBKs wherever they are assigned/stationed; they can develop this strong bond when cadets are in Metro Manila or they can visit them in Baguio.  For this reason, it is preferred that MMBKs be Christian PMA alumni assigned in Metro-Manila; they easily relate to fellow PMAayers because of their familiarity of the “language” and PMA subculture. Moreover, they know the struggles and hardships of a cadet and a new graduate and the PBKs specific role is to receive and “baby-sit” new graduates endorsed to them in their area of responsibility (AOR). They could either be PMAyers or non-PMAyers.

There is a limited number of Christian PMA alumni in Metro Manila who can be tapped as MMBK.  Likewise, they would need help in their functions and specific roles as MMBK.  Hence, we need to tap Christian non-PMAyers in Metro-Manila (military, police, and civilians) to work with them  as their assistants.

The PMAyer MMBK functions as the “squad leader” while the non-PMAyer MMBK acts as their “assistant squad leaders.”  The non-PMAyer MMBK should preferably come from the same church of the PMAyer MMBK.  The program establishes a BK Coordinating Committee (BKCC) in Metro-Manila composed of representatives from PMA Christian community and participating  PCOs.  It serves as the “Command, Control, and Communication Center” of the program.

Annually, incoming “yearling” (2nd year) cadets are assigned their MMBKs during the February PMA Alumni Homecoming. The purpose is to give the MMBKs  longer period of time to establish strong bonds before their wards graduate from PMA.

Basic Qualifications of BK (MMBK and PBK):Matured Christian.  A BK has a big responsibility to be able to perform his/her role as a guardian, caretaker, or parent.  Likewise he/she must have the spiritual maturity to be able to disciple and mentor his/her ward; High Level of Committment.  It takes a high level of commitment to “baby-sit”. The performance of a BK’s role involves resources – time and money;

The Functions of BK:  Receive them into the family of God (Ro 15:7).  Properly assimilate them in your church or a local church where they are assigned; Edify them (Ro 14:19).  Encouraging them by your life example, words, attitudes, etc.; Lead and serve them with a loving heart. (Ep 5:21, Ga 5:13); Demonstrate hospitality to them (1Pe 4:8-10).Visit them in their times of need.  Invite them into your home or accepting invitations to their home.; Support them during their time of difficulties or faults (Heb 10:24-25). Be aware of their problems and make an effort to reach out to them when they drift away. Network with Christian friends or churches near their place of assignment to visit them.; Exhort them lest they become hardened by sin (He 3:12-14). Confront them lovingly and with humility; bear their burdens willingly (Ga 6:1-2).  Help them overcome and become stronger.; and, forgive them when they repent (Eph 4:32). Fear of not being forgiven and accepted back into the family may keep some from repenting and returning to the fold.  Communicate a willingness to accept with open arms and offer complete forgiveness.

Air Force 300 Division Opens Wisdom of the Generals Series

The fighting men and women of the Philippine Air Force 300 Air Intelligence and Security Group (The Tigers) is one of the fiercest military unit in the whole AFP. Noted for the bravery, they are in the forefront of the Air Force’s battle against terrorism. Recently promoted Col Laucris “Cris”Tumanda, their Group Commander, has one secret that makes all his move favourable in the eyes of men- He has sought the Wisdom of God.

Wishing that the same divinely inspired wisdom and providence should affect his men, he opened their unit to Godly Insights through a book review series of Gen. William Cohen’s Wisdom of the Generals. The book review series which was used and promoted by the CORPS Movement, is a reflection on virtues possessed by commanders of Armies from past to present time. It is a collection of insights by revered and famous military leaders on virtues and morals that every military and police officer should aspire.

The book review is conducted over breakfast every Friday Morning at the 300 Division main conference room lead by Bro. Boi Manuel of the BOC4 Movement and Ptr. Dan Afuang of the JOSHUA ministry of the Greenhills Christian Fellowship.

BOC4 Movement is A Green Movement
