BOC Bulacan: Do You Know the Way to San Jose

Speaking of Katipuneros, we have two more patriots who have continuously revolutionize the police ministry. Lately, they have lay siege to the scenic and mountainous town of San Jose Del Monte in Bulacan and have to dedicated to take the town for Christ.

Ptr. Jun Pangilinan and Ptr. Jim Delos Santos formed a tandem that is at the forefront of expansion of the ministry. They gather pastors and churches from the locality of an area to share the BOC vision as well as train them in Biblical Counseling.

The Biblical Counseling training which is from the BOC Movement’s association with Bro. Paul and Pat Elis would involve a two month course that would help pastors and laymen in their ministry with the police. Although it is not part of the standard BOC program, it is a helpful add-on.

The team hopes to expand further to other towns of Bulacan.

BOC Cavite: The Life of a Modern Day Katipunero

He would have made Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo proud! Not only because PO1 Arnold Purificacion looks like our First President but also because he epitomizes what the Katipuneros of lore advocate: genuine transformation, zealous dedication and love for God and country.

Alike any patriotic son of Cavite, PO1 Purificacion dedicated his entire endeavor to see through the transformation agenda of the PNP and alike any man of the cloth (he is a pastor who joined the PNP), he knows that genuine transformation could only be achieved by a genuine relationship with Christ.

PO1 Purificacion has taken this challenge to the hilt and have been blessing to his organization, to the community it serve, the churches that he partners as well as the province which he has pledge to win for Christ.  In the PNP, PO1 Purificacion led all transformation and moral ascendancy activities of the Cavite Provincial Police which motivates police to be God-Centered, Service-Oriented and Family-Based. In the communities of Cavite, PO1 Purificacion joined various PCR activity which promotes the transformation agenda of the PNP. He also connect churches and pastors to different precincts and station of his province if they want to establish a BOC program in their locale in an effort to evangelize the whole of Cavite.

Such heroic feat, would have made Gen Aguinaldo so proud.

BOC Movement Partners with OFWs, Lawyers , Civil Society Advocates and Prayer Warriors

In an effort to consolidate support and share each other concerns in prayers among Christians in government, the CORPS movement joined forces with other Christian groups led who are like minded in their effort to have an impact in the country for the Lordship of Christ.

The CORPS movement joined a monthly prayer meeting Civil Society Christians led by PCEC Director Bishop Efraim Tendero and organized by Christian Businessman Wyden King at the Grand Villas Hotel at Ortigas. The CORPS-BOC-MBK Movement went in full force to support the group. They were headed by Chairman CORPS PSSUPT Cesar Hawthorne Binag, PSUPT Bernie Banac, PSUPT Jun Borromeo, PCINSP Gus Ferrer, BOC Executive Director Boi Manuel, BOC Secretary General Jeremy Dellosa and JOSHUA Ministry’s Dan Afuang.

They were joined by other Christian groups like the OFW forum which support and help OFW in their flight in other countries. They also train Christian OFW to share the gospel among other OFWs and foreigners.

They also meet with Christian Lawyers of the Philippines, a group of lawyers who helps other Christians and Christian organizations in their civil and legal duties. The CORPS Movement also asked assistance for the lawyer group for the PNP. The PNP has only 135 active lawyers who serve the 165,000 policemen of the PNP and they would need the assistance from the community to serve policemen who have cases.

They meet with a water advocate group who espoused the free use of tap water in the city.
The CORPS Movement presented the vision of transformation in the PNP. Col Binag, the group’s chairman, explained that progress and social development are often associated with the peace order situation of any country and that normally an efficient police force dictates the economic environment of the state. He then asked for support from the other group to support their police in order for them to secure the country’s economic outlook which precedes development and growth.

The other groups warmly accepted the challenge and have prayed and blessed their police.
At the end of the meet, the group prayed for unity of Christian believers in government as well as the vision of evangelizing the whole country for Christ.

BOC Rizal: Shining as God Centered, Service Oriented and Family Based Policemen

When three Mistahs of the PMA Class of 92 Tanglaw Diwa were invited to the Rizal Provincial Police Station to share their lives to the new recruits of the Provincial Police Office, they made sure that this neophyte policemen would not only be a born-hard warrior ready to serve their country but also as a born-again believer willing to follow God’s sovereign will.

PSUPT Sidney Hernia, PSUPT Eric Noble and PSUPT Bernie Banac took time off their busy schedule to meet Pastor Jim Delos Santos and volunteers of the Bless Our Cops Movement in Rizal to share their lives and testify of the Lord’s goodness in their lives.

PSUPT Sidney Hernia spoke on the manner of how a service oriented policeman should regard their profession and how should a policeman serve in light of the vileness that is around him.

PSUPT Bernie Banac taught the new cops of their responsibility as a father and husband to their families. He declared that the police service should not be a deterrent for someone to have a strong family bond with their spouse and their kids.

PSSUPT Eric Noble shared how God blesses a God fearing policeman: He recounted how God sustained his career and promoted him in his faith. This was evident by the many acclaims that he has garnered in service.

He also added that a genuine relationship with God is the key for success in the police service as he led the recruits to a prayer of acceptance to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

BOC Baguio: Living a Life of Purpose

Often among the lessons that was shared by Rick Warren in his Best Selling book Purpose Driven Life, the one that teaches us to be a blessing to others is often the most under stressed. Most of us focus on the importance of spreading the gospel but we forget the manner on how we should spread it. In the book, it was said that being a blessing does not only include sharing the Message of Christ’s life but also sharing your surrendered life to those who are in need…

So, how do we become a blessing to others?

Our brothers from Baguio have time and again demonstrated the answer.

With small acts of kindness, the Bless Our Cops and Soldiers Movement in Baguio lead by Ptr. Vio Muncada has continually been a source of blessing for the Armed Forces in the Benguet Peninsula. Last Christmas, they went from one precinct to another to visit duty bound policemen and shared donuts and a cup of coffee with them. They continually visit police stations in the city to pray for policemen and their families.

Last month they outdid themselves by hosting a three day seminar on Rick Warren’s Purpose Driven Life for the policemen of Benguet. The seminar was funded by the different churches of the city that believed in the transformation of the country was possible if you bless and transform their police force. They rallied behind their police in the belief that their ministry will be blessed with the help of the police who also has great impact in the communities that they wish to evangelize.

With this partnership, both pastors and policemen continue to live a purposeful life full of blessing

BOC Movement Trains DI

In an effort to encourage different PNP offices to strive towards efficiency and team unity, the BOC Movement conducted several teambuilding activities in order for them to unify and gel together in their work. This is in part of the BOC Movement’s commitment in helping create a service oriented PNP.

Last May 2012, the BOC Movement facilitated the PNP Directorate for Intelligence’s teambuilding seminar wherein all of the personnel of the Directorate, including PDIR Ager Ontog who heads the Directorate, joined.

The seminar focused on leaving behind a Godly legacy in the service as well as being a committed team member to the organization that they serve.

The seminar was led by Prof. Bernabe and Tess Manuel, Prof. Jeremy F. Dellosa and Engr. Noriel Hagos.

The BOC team composed of Ptr. Dan Afuang, PSUPT Jun Borromeo and PSI Peter Paner taught men and women on how to reach the city for Christ by using the police ministry as a platform.

BOC Brings Blessing to the Youth

In order to expand its reach towards a broader mass particularly the younger generation, the Bless Our Cops Movement reached out and joined the National Service Training Program of the Philippine National Police and has adopted the University of the Philippines Diliman as their pilot project.

In a month long seminar, Bro. Boi Manuel, Ptr. Noriel Hagos and Dan Afuang handled different seminars on fire prevention, drug enforcement and national security. The team also featured CORPS police officer who shared the knowledge and wisdom on particular subjects: PSI Gus Ferrer on Drug enforcement and PSS Cesar Hawthorne R. Binag on National Security.

CORPS-BOC-MBK Sends Off PNPA Class 2012

Sending off the newly graduated Police Inspectors to their new assignments in Mindanao was a heartrending and perhaps painful moment for the members of the CORPS, BOC and MBK. Perhaps, this was due to the thought that this might be the last time that they will see their brothers which was hard for all of them. Still, each and everyone believed that all things will work together for good for all those who were called by God and this assurance alone have given them delight as the new brothers and sisters venture to a new phase in their lives.

Ptr. Raymond Go Head Pastor of the Cadet Christian Fellowship and the rest of the former CCF members of PNPA class of 2012 Sinagtala joined the weekly Anteroom Bible study to be one in prayer with the rest of their CORPS-BOC-MBK family for God’s sovereignty and protection towards the brothers and sisters.

Fighting back tears, Ptr. Raymond Go gave farewell reminders to the class recounting how God was good to them and how they should have a positive outlook on the dangers awaiting them. He also advised them to always trust in God and be reminded that the “God they meet as cadets in the academy is the same God that will sustain them in the field.”

PI Lurube “Gemboy” Rojo, in behalf of his class, responded with a heartfelt thank you to Pastor Go and his IGSL staff who has helped him, to the Bless Our Cops churches (Caloocan Christian Church, Greenhills Christian Fellowship and Christ Commissioned Fellowship) who has adopted them as sons and daughters and of course his elder Christian brothers from the CORPS Movement Foundation who will continue to oversee their Christian growth and progress were ever they may be assigned.

In the closing prayer given by PSSUPT Cesar Hawthorne Binag, he blessed each and everyone that has attended the prayer gathering and has prayed for the safety of the brothers wherever their assignment maybe.

CORPS-BOC-MBK Pays Courtesy Visit to PCSUPT Clarence Guinto

Almost 10 years ago a very unassuming Police Superintendent was invited to a small bible study group at the Cabana Restaurant inside Camp Crame. The very undemanding and courteous officer was quite thankful of the warm reception that he received from the group and eventually became a fond believer of a Christ-centered, Family-based and Service-Oriented PNP.

Last June 20, 2012, the CORPS-BOC-MBK movement paid visit to this gentle officer who was named as the new Director of the Philippine National Police Academy: PCSUPT Clarence Guinto.

The group, which was led by PSUPT Bernie Banac and was composed of PSINSP Gus Ferrer, Ptr Raymond GO of the Cadet Christian Fellowship, Ptr. Danao Afuang of the JOSHUA Ministry of the GCF, Bro. Boi Manuel and Jojo Dellosa of the BOC Movement Foundation, promised full support to the programs and directives of PCSUPT Guinto.

PCSUPT Guinto on the other hand promised his support to the CORPS-BOC-MBK movement and has given his blessing to the Cadet Christian Fellowship and its members.

The group also joined Col. Guinto and his group to the TalkBack: Payback Seminar wherein second class cadets were given advices by civilians and policemen on how should the policemen interact with their community. PSUPT Banac gave advice on how a cadet should treat his family. PCINSP Ferrer focused on the value of being financially sound. Ptr. Raymond Go talked about the need of having Christ. Ptr. Dan, Boi and Jojo talked about maintaining a morally grounded career in the PNP.

In the end, the cadets was thankful as they were guided to the correct paths that they should take.

The group also met with MBK brothers who were assigned in Mindanao led by PCINSP Raffy Gonda. This was an effort to renew camaraderie and bond between brothers and keepers who have lost contact with each other.

Bon Voyage Bong Durana

Another member of the Christian Officers Reform the Police Service (CORPS) Movement Foundation was blessed by God to have an opportunity to study at the John F. Kennedy School of Leadership in Harvard University: Police Senior Superintendent Benigno "Bong" Durana Jr.

Bro. Bong who is not only known to be one of the best police officer in the country, winning the Lingkod Bayan and Ten Outstanding Cops, but is also known to be one of the pillars in the police ministry in Camp Crame where in a lot of policemen came to know Christ.

The Bangus Run: A Story Faith of One Man’s Faith

With faith of a mustard seed, a man can move mountains…such was the faith of our brother Gene.
After assuming the post of Provincial Maritime Commander of Region 1, PSUPT Genesis Tolejano was assigned with a onerous task of patrolling the expansive extent of the Lingayen Bay. Making it more difficult was the fact that he had to do it with only three patrol boats.

But he had faith and it was enough for him to shine in an assignment with minimal resource.

Learning the situation of his office, his brothers from the CORPS Movement spurred on the idea to conduct and support raising activity that will help him to raise a water asset for his men. PSUPT Eric Noble, Boi Manuel, Dan Afuang and Bro. Jojo Dellosa who visited Col. Tolejano in Dagupan last year connected him with Christian brothers who have a heart with the police.

The Christian Evangelical Ministers Fellowship of Dagupan led by their police ministry head Ptr. Jun Centeno, More the Conquerors Business Club led by their Chairman Ashok Vasadani and Adsense Marketing led by Aries Aguilar grouped together and helped Col. Tolejano to design a marathon that would not only help him in his campaign to raise funds for a water asset but also spread awareness about the dangers of dynamite fishing and the need for environmental protection in the Lingayen Gulf.

Last April 21, 2012, the event (dubbed as the Bangus Run which officially started the weeklong Bangus Festival of Dagupan City) came to fruition with astounding success. One thousand runners from all over Pangasinan and beyond came and supported the event. The business sector, local government, students and Pangasinense from all walks of life came and supported the event.

Surely a mustard faith could go a long way…
(As of writing the CEMF of Dagupan, is already securing a boat which will be turned over to the PNP-Maritime Office)
