The Breakfast Club Devotionals: What is the Proper Way to Pray?

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he hears us:  And if we know that he hear us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
1 John 5:14-15

With Confidence... (1 John 5:14)

....By Abiding in Him
And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
1 John 2: 28

...With A Clean Conscience
Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
1 John 3:21

If we ask... (1 John 5: 15a)

...by seeking, finding and knocking
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Matthew 7:7

...in Christ's Name
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
John 14:13

... and also Keep His Command
And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
1 John 3:22

With Assurance (1 John 5: 15b)

...Because We are his Sons and Daughters
We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

1 John 5:18-20
